Vacancy for a full-time paralegal
Wesley Gryk Solicitors LLP is a niche private immigration and nationality practice, rated Band 1 by Chambers and Partners.
We are seeking to appoint a paralegal to assist Barry O’Leary, one of the firm’s partners, with his active caseload involving the full range of immigration and nationality issues.
The contract is permanent (following a three month probation period); the salary is £20,993 rising to £23,767 after 6 months; the starting date is Monday 2 April 2018 (although for the right candidate this may be negotiable); and the working hours are Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 5.30pm.
We are looking for a graduate who is aware of, and interested in, the issues surrounding immigration and has a commitment to equality and human rights, and to promoting the rights of migrants. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively prioritise and manage deadlines.
This position is very much one where you learn “on-the-job”. Many of the tasks are administrative but, subject to performance, you will be given increasingly complex tasks, more responsibilities, and more control over cases, although always under a solicitor’s supervision.
Our trainee solicitors have traditionally started as paralegals but there is no guarantee of progression (and the successful candidate may be an individual who does not wish to qualify as a solicitor).
How to apply
To apply, please return the following documents to firstname.lastname@example.org by the end of 6 February 2018:
- A covering letter clearly stating why you are interested in this role; how your experience and skills match the role; and when you will be available to start (including your notice period if you have one).
- Up-to-date CV
Wesley Gryk Solicitors is an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all candidates who meet the person specification regardless of age, religion, gender, sexual identity, gender identity, disability or race.
