Vacancy for a full-time paralegal working with our senior partner
Wesley Gryk Solicitors LLP is a niche private immigration and nationality practice, rated Band 1 by Chambers and Partners. The firm has always endeavoured to ensure that one of the focuses of its work is the protection of individuals’ basic human rights. It has also, since the EU Referendum, given a particular emphasis to ensuring that European nationals living in the United Kingdom are fully aware of their legal rights to remain here, including through a number of pro bono initiatives.
We are seeking to appoint a paralegal to assist Wesley Gryk, senior partner, with his active caseload involving the full range of immigration issues.
The contract is permanent (following a three month probation period). The salary is £21,560 rising to £24,409 after 6 months. We are seeking to employ someone starting as soon as possible in July and ideally no later than Monday 16 July 2018. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 5.30pm.
We are looking for a graduate who is aware of, and interested in, the issues surrounding immigration and has a commitment to equality and human rights, and to promoting the rights of migrants. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritise effectively and manage deadlines and a meticulous attention to detail.
This position is very much one where you learn “on-the-job”. Many of the tasks are administrative but, subject to performance, you will be given increasingly complex tasks, more responsibilities, and more control over cases, although always under a solicitor’s supervision.
Our trainee solicitors have traditionally started as paralegals but there is no guarantee of progression (and the successful candidate may be an individual who does not wish to qualify as a solicitor).
How to apply
To apply, please return the following documents to firstname.lastname@example.org by 23:59 on Monday 7 May 2018:
